FAQ’s
Exactly how much do you charge?
Well that entirely depends on the location, date, event type, sound/lighting requirements and the number of guests! I will be able to provide an exact quote after a consultation via a phone/zoom meeting!
What makes you different other Sax DJ performers out there?
Ed, (the main performer for Ultimate Sax), has been playing saxophone for 25 years, and has studied to the highest level at one of the worlds leading Music Schools (The Royal Academy of Music, MA), and as such has a remarkable ability above most in the “Sax DJ” industry, able to pick anything up in a matter of seconds! He has studied with such greats as: David Liebman (Miles Davis, John Scofield), Mark Turner (Kurt Rosenwinkel, Tom Harrell, Billy Hart) and Jean Toussaint (Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers).
What exactly does an ultimate sax and DJ performance look like?
For the full DJ/sax experience, Ed will DJ to the crowd using professional equipment (sound/lighting/DJ equipment) and will play sax sporadically through-out the night when he feels the timing is right. He has several different premixes of music (made out of the biggest hit songs and anthems of the past 4 decades) to play along too, so he doesn’t have to keep revisiting the decks to mix in and out of songs.
What equipment is provided?
For the full package a PA of some 2800 watts with subwoofers are provided, with DJ Booth, Lighting (including spot lights and up lighters (up to 8) and even a haze machine to add atmosphere to the event. Also microphones are available for speeches and announcements.
What is required for booking?
A consultation call to determine the correct package/requirements and then a contract signing and a 25% deposit to be made to secure the date.
Are you available internationally?
Yes I am! However, equipment such as sound/lighting may have to be sourced if the event is outside of the EU.
How long has Ed been playing the Saxophone?
Ed started when he was 9 years old and was born in the year 1989, so you do the math!
May I request songs to be played?
Of course, Ed is willing to learn up to 4 new songs to be played for your event, such as songs for wedding ceremonies, first dances or even a surprise serenade for your loved one! All music will be learned by ear and memorised so no sheet music will be seen!
